Tragus Ring Size Guide

Small but perfectly formed

The tragus is one of the smallest piercing locations, so getting the right size is essential. Too large and it sticks out awkwardly; too small and it presses against the ear canal.

6mm Snug, close-fitting. Sits tight against the tragus. Very discreet and low-profile.
7mm The sweet spot for most tragus piercings. Visible, comfortable, and well-proportioned.Most popular
8mm Slightly larger. Works well for bigger tragus flaps or if you prefer more visual presence.

Earbuds note: A small tragus hoop (6-7mm) generally doesn't interfere with earbuds. You may need to adjust insertion angle slightly, but most people adapt within a few days.

Common Questions

Can I still use earbuds with a tragus ring?

In most cases, yes. A small hoop (6-7mm) sits snugly against the tragus and doesn't block the ear canal. You may need to adjust the angle of your earbuds slightly. Over-ear headphones are generally fine. During the healing period (first 3-6 months with your initial stud), avoid earbuds entirely.

When can I switch from a stud to a hoop?

Tragus piercings typically take 3-6 months to heal. We recommend waiting at least 3 months, and checking with your piercer, before switching to a hoop. A seamless gold hoop is a popular upgrade from the initial flat-back stud.
