Our Story
We make one thing, and we make it well
Stepoy is a UK-based piercing jewellery brand with a simple belief: the ring you wear in your piercing should be as carefully made as the piercing itself. Every piece we sell is handcrafted from genuine 14K solid gold, made to order in your exact size.

It started with a simple frustration
Finding quality piercing jewellery in the UK shouldn't be this difficult. The high street sells gold-plated rings that tarnish within weeks. Online marketplaces are flooded with mass-produced pieces of uncertain origin and quality.
We started Stepoy because we believed there was a better way. One product, done properly: a seamless hoop in 14K solid gold, handmade to your precise specifications.

Why we chose 14K solid gold
When we started researching materials, the choice became obvious. Piercing jewellery isn't like a necklace you take off at night. It sits inside your body, in contact with healing tissue, for months or years at a time. The material has to be exceptional.
14K gold is 58.3% pure gold, alloyed for strength. It's biocompatible — your body accepts it rather than reacting against it. It contains zero nickel. It won't tarnish, flake, or degrade. And unlike fashion jewellery that needs replacing every season, a solid gold ring lasts a lifetime.
We don't offer gold-plated alternatives. We don't sell surgical steel. Every piece that leaves our workshop is genuine 14K solid gold. It's the only material we trust enough to put our name on.

Why we make everything to order
Most jewellery brands stock a limited range of sizes and hope for the best. We think that's backwards. A 7mm hoop looks completely different from a 7.5mm hoop when it's sitting in your helix. A 20G wire feels different from an 18G. These details matter.
By making each ring to order, we can offer every size from 4mm to 12mm — including half sizes — in multiple gauges. That's over 30 possible combinations for each piercing location. No compromises, no "close enough."
Yes, it means your ring takes a few days longer to arrive than a mass-produced one from a warehouse. We think the precision is worth the wait.

What We Believe
The principles behind every ring
Material integrity
We only use genuine 14K solid gold. No plating, no filling, no shortcuts. The material you wear in a healing piercing should be beyond reproach.
Precision sizing
Every ear is different. We offer sizes down to the half millimetre because "close enough" isn't good enough when it comes to comfort and appearance.
Honest information
Our piercing guides exist to help you make informed decisions — not to sell you jewellery. We tell you when to wait, when to see a piercer, and when cheap jewellery is causing your problems.
Craft over scale
We're not trying to be the biggest piercing jewellery brand. We're trying to be the most trusted. Every ring is handmade individually.
Simplicity
We make one design — a seamless hoop — in one material — 14K solid gold. We'd rather perfect one thing than do many things adequately.
Transparency
No hidden materials. No misleading marketing. When we say 14K solid gold, that's exactly what you get.

More than jewellery:piercing expertise
We don't just sell rings — we publish some of the most comprehensive piercing guides available online. From helix to rook, nostril to septum, each guide is written with care: accurate information, realistic expectations, and honest advice.
We do this because we believe an informed customer is a happy customer. When you understand your piercing — the healing timeline, the aftercare, the right jewellery size — you're far more likely to have a positive experience. And when you're ready for a gold ring, you'll know exactly what size and gauge to order.
Our guides cover:
Helix, rook, daith, conch, tragus, lobe, cartilage, nostril, and septum piercings — with more being added regularly.
