  • Manufacturing defects — if your ring arrives with a confirmed making issue, such as rough edges, an uneven shape, or a visible fault, we will replace it free of charge. Please email us with your order number and a clear photo within 30 days of delivery.
  • Damaged in transit — if your ring arrives damaged during shipping, please email us within 30 days with a clear photo of the item and packaging. Once confirmed, we will arrange a free replacement.
  • Wrong item received — if we sent the wrong gauge, diameter, gold colour, or product, we will send the correct item at our expense.

You do not need to return defective or damaged items to us — we do not want you to have to deal with packaging and posting on top of a disappointing experience. Simply email us a photo and we will arrange your replacement.

Choosing the right size for a new piece of piercing jewellery can be difficult, especially when ordering from a new brand. For your first Stepoy order, we offer one complimentary size adjustment on one ring if the fit is not quite right. We will confirm the corrected size with you before making the replacement.

  • Usually applies to a diameter or gauge adjustment after sizing advice from us

In most cases, you will not need to return the original item for hygiene reasons.

Why do we offer this?
We have all been there — trying a hoop in a new piercing position, or choosing a different diameter for the first time, and not being entirely sure which diameter will sit just right. A ring that is too snug can press against sensitive tissue and cause irritation; one that is too loose can snag or move around uncomfortably. The right fit matters, not just for how it looks, but for how your piercing feels and sits every day. That is why we offer one first-order size adjustment, so you have a little extra support when choosing your first Stepoy ring.

Returns policy

We want to be completely transparent about what our policy covers and what it does not. Every Stepoy ring is handcrafted to your chosen gauge, diameter, and gold colour. Because each piece is made to your specifications, and because pierced jewellery is worn in close contact with the body, our returns policy is different from standard fashion jewellery.

What is not covered

Because each ring is shaped by hand to your chosen gauge and diameter, and because pierced jewellery is worn in close contact with the body, there are some situations where we are unable to offer a return — but we will always try to help:

If your ring arrives damaged, faulty, or is not what you ordered:

Why does delivery take time?
We do not keep pre-made stock. When you place an order, your ring is crafted individually from 14K gold wire — shaped, polished, inspected, and carefully packaged. This takes 3–5 working days. We believe the precision of a made-to-order ring is worth the short wait.

Customs & import duties
International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or handling fees imposed by your country’s customs authority. These charges are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in our prices or shipping costs. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount.

Order cancellations

Because we begin crafting your ring shortly after your order is placed, cancellations are only possible if the request is made within a few hours of ordering — before production has started.

To request a cancellation, email us as soon as possible with your order number. If your ring has not entered production yet, we will cancel the order and issue a full refund. If crafting has already begun, we are unable to cancel.

Need to make a change?
If you need to change the size, gauge, or any detail of your order, email us immediately. If we have not started making your ring yet, we can update it. The sooner you reach out, the better.

Can I return my ring if I change my mind?
Because every ring is handcrafted to your specifications and pierced jewellery is worn in close contact with the body, we are unable to accept change-of-mind returns. However, we never want you to feel stuck — contact us and we will review the situation. In some cases, we may be able to offer a goodwill solution.
What if my ring arrives damaged or faulty?
We will arrange a free replacement for confirmed quality issues. Email us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo of the issue. Once confirmed, we will dispatch a replacement as quickly as possible. You do not need to return the faulty item.
How long does delivery take within the UK?
Please allow 3–5 working days for crafting and a further 2 working days for delivery. Total: approximately 5–7 working days from order to doorstep. We will send you a tracking number as soon as your ring ships.

My tracking has not updated — should I be worried?
Tracking information can sometimes take 24–48 hours to update after dispatch. If your tracking has not moved for more than 5 working days (UK) or 14 working days (international), please get in touch and we will investigate.
