The details that matter
Discover the shape, hand-wrapped detail and fit of your Solis 14ct solid gold septum ring.
1. Why you’ll love it
The hand-wrapped lower arc brings detail to a delicate gold septum hoop, with polished wire on either side of the winding. Approximately half the circle carries rounded hand-wound gold wire; the remaining section stays smooth, with polished round wire leading to both sides of the opening.
The wrapped arc brings detail to the visible curve, while the smooth section passes through your piercing. The exact wearing angle depends on your anatomy and piercing placement, so each fit has its own character.
Each ring is wrapped by hand, allowing small natural differences in the spacing and angle of individual turns. Wear Solis with a plain nostril ring for a gentle contrast of smooth and wrapped gold.
2. Material & finish
Made from 14ct solid gold, never plated or gold-filled. The lower half is wrapped by hand with fine gold wire, while the upper arc and both sides of the opening retain smooth, polished round wire.
- Choose yellow, white or rose gold
- Rounded hand-wound gold wire around approximately half the circle
- Small natural differences in the hand-wrapped finish
- Flat-cut ends that meet in a fine, discreet seam
- Made to order in your selected diameter and gauge
- For fully healed septum piercings
The photographs show the design and style of finish; your ring will have its own subtle differences in the wire turns.
3. Choosing your size
Available in 6–10mm inner diameters, Solis offers a choice of fits for your piercing. Compare the options with a septum ring that already fits you:
- 6mm: the smallest option, only where your anatomy and piercing position allow a comfortable fit
- 7mm: a smaller curve, where your anatomy and piercing position allow
- 8mm: a compact look with a little more room
- 9mm: a larger, more visible curve
- 10mm: a roomier, more prominent look
Choose the same gauge as your current well-fitting jewellery: 18G is 1.0mm and 20G is 0.8mm.
The right fit depends on your anatomy and piercing position. Septum piercings can be difficult to measure yourself, so ask your piercer to confirm the diameter and gauge if you are unsure. Check the available size and gauge combinations above before ordering.
The gauge refers to the slender round-wire section that passes through your piercing. The lower decorative section is wrapped with fine gold wire; choose your gauge by the smooth wire that passes through the piercing.
4. Wearing your seamless hoop
Open the hoop by gently twisting the ends sideways in opposite directions. Do not pull them directly apart, as this can distort the circle.
Guide a smooth round-wire end through your fully healed piercing, keeping the wire-wrapped lower section outside the piercing channel. Gently twist the flat-cut ends back into alignment until they meet neatly.
Ask a professional piercer to help with fitting if the placement is difficult to reach, and to check that the wrapped section sits comfortably outside the piercing.
