Fit Helper

Is 6.5mm right for you?

Choose 6.5mm if 6mm feels too tight but 7mm looks too loose. It is a close but easier middle-ground fit for small, fully healed piercings.

SizeFit feelBest for
6mmVery snug / closeLow placements where tissue is thin and 6mm does not press
6.5mmClose but easierWhen 6mm feels tight but 7mm looks too loose
7mmSlightly roomierWhen comfort matters more than the closest possible fit

6.5mm is for the person who wants a precise small hoop fit, without the pressure of 6mm or the extra space of 7mm.

Half Size Fit

When standard sizes feel almost right, but not quite

A half millimetre can matter on a small hoop. If 6mm presses into the skin, pulls, or feels too tight, but 7mm leaves more visible space than you want, 6.5mm gives you a more precise middle-ground fit.

6.5mm is the in-between size for a closer look than 7mm, with a little more ease than 6mm.

Suitable Placements

May suit small, fully healed placements

6.5mm can be a useful size for small healed piercings where 6mm is too tight but a standard 7mm fit looks looser than you want.

Low nostril placements
Small helix placements
Forward helix placements
Some tragus piercings
Small healed lobe piercings
6.5mm is still a small diameter. It is best for fully healed placements that sit close to the edge. If your piercing sits higher, deeper, or has thicker tissue around it, choose 7mm or larger.

Size Difference

6mm vs 6.5mm vs 7mm: what is the difference?

The 0.5mm difference is subtle, but on a small piercing ring it can change comfort and appearance. 6.5mm sits between the very snug 6mm fit and the roomier 7mm fit.

DiameterHow it looksChoose it if
6mmVery close and compactYou already know 6mm feels comfortable and does not press
6.5mmClose, precise and slightly easier6mm feels tight but 7mm looks too loose
7mmSmall but more relaxedYou want more room, easier movement, or a safer starting size

Gauge Guide

Choose your gauge

Gauge affects how delicate or structured the hoop looks. If you are unsure, check the jewellery you currently wear or ask your piercer before ordering.

GaugeLook / feelBest for
22GFinest, most delicateVery delicate healed piercings
20GDelicate everyday choiceMany nostril and small cartilage piercings
18GSlightly stronger lookIf your piercing is already fitted for 18G
16GThicker and more structuredOnly if you know your piercing wears 16G

Metal Colour

Choose 14ct yellow gold or 14ct rose gold

Both options are genuine solid 14ct gold. Choose the colour that works best with your skin tone and the jewellery you already wear.

14ct Yellow Gold

Classic warm gold, bright and timeless. A clean choice if most of your jewellery is traditional yellow gold.

14ct Rose Gold

Softer, warmer and more subtle on the skin. Our rose gold option is solid 14ct rose gold, not rose gold plated.

Material Trust

Small hoop, real solid gold

Because a close-fitting hoop sits near the skin every day, material matters. This hoop is made from solid 14ct gold wire for long-term everyday wear.

14ct Solid Gold

Not plated. Not gold-filled. Solid 14ct gold, handmade to order for fully healed piercings.

Gold-Plated

Surface coating can wear away over time, exposing the base metal underneath.

Surgical Steel

Some surgical steel alloys contain nickel, which may not suit everyone with sensitive healed piercings.

Important Fit Note

For fully healed piercings only

This 6.5mm seamless hoop is designed for healed piercings only. It is not suitable for fresh, healing, irritated or swollen piercings.

Measure Before Ordering

How to check if 6.5mm may fit

Measure from the centre of your piercing hole to the outer edge of the area where the hoop will sit. For a nostril piercing, measure from the centre of your piercing hole to the lower edge of the nostril where the hoop will wrap around.
Compare that measurement with your current hoop.
If your current 6mm hoop presses, pulls, or leaves marks, 6.5mm may feel more comfortable.
If your 7mm hoop looks too loose or leaves more visible space than you want, 6.5mm may sit closer.
If you have never worn a small hoop before, 7mm may be the safer starting point.

Common Questions

About the 6.5mm seamless hoop

Who should choose a 6.5mm seamless hoop?

Choose 6.5mm if your piercing is fully healed, 6mm feels too tight, and 7mm looks slightly too loose.

Is 6.5mm closer to 6mm or 7mm?

It sits exactly between them. It gives a little more ease than 6mm while staying closer than 7mm.

Is 6.5mm suitable for nostril piercings?

It can suit low, fully healed nostril placements, especially when 6mm feels tight but 7mm looks loose. It is not a universal nostril size.

Is 6.5mm comfortable?

It can be comfortable when the placement is right. If the hoop presses, pulls, or leaves marks, choose a larger diameter.

Should I choose 6mm, 6.5mm or 7mm?

Choose 6mm if you already know it is comfortable, 6.5mm if 6mm feels tight but 7mm looks loose, and 7mm if you want more room or are unsure.

What gauge should I choose for 6.5mm?

20G gives a delicate everyday look, 18G is slightly thicker, 22G is the finest option, and 16G should only be chosen if you know your piercing is already fitted for 16G.

Is rose gold still solid gold?

Yes. Choose 14ct rose gold if you prefer a softer colour. It is solid 14ct rose gold, not rose gold plated.

Is this hoop suitable for new piercings?

No. It is only for fully healed piercings.
