Fit Helper

Is 7.5mm the right hoop size for you?

Choose 7.5mm if 7mm feels a little too tight, but 8mm leaves more visible space than you want. It gives a close, balanced fit without feeling as restrictive as 7mm.

SizeFit feelBest for
7mmClose / snugWhen you want a smaller, tighter look
7.5mmBalanced close fitWhen 7mm feels tight but 8mm looks too loose
8mmClassic everyday fitWhen you want more space or easier movement

7.5mm gives you a close fit without feeling as restrictive as 7mm.

Half Size Fit

When 7mm is too tight and 8mm is too loose

Standard hoop sizes often jump by a full millimetre. On a small piercing, that 1mm difference can change how the hoop sits, moves and looks. 7.5mm gives you the middle ground: closer than 8mm, but easier than 7mm.

7.5mm is the in-between size for healed piercings that need a close look with just a little more comfort than 7mm.

Suitable Placements

May suit small to medium fully healed placements

7.5mm can suit healed piercings that need a close but not tight fit. It is more flexible than smaller half sizes, while still giving a cleaner look than a loose standard size.

Nostril piercings that need a close but not tight fit
Helix piercings that feel tight in 7mm
Some tragus piercings
Forward helix placements with slightly more room
Small lobe piercings
Some small septum placements, only if you already know you wear a close fit
7.5mm is still a relatively small hoop. If your piercing sits higher, deeper, or passes through thicker tissue, choose 8mm, 8.5mm or larger.

Size Difference

7mm vs 7.5mm vs 8mm: which size should you choose?

This is the key fit question for a balanced half size. Choose 7.5mm when 7mm feels restrictive but 8mm looks too open.

DiameterHow it looksChoose it if
7mmSmall and closeYou want a snug look and already know 7mm feels comfortable
7.5mmClose but more balanced7mm feels tight but 8mm looks too open
8mmClassic everyday fitYou want easier movement or a little more visible space

Gauge Guide

Choose your gauge

If you are replacing an existing hoop, choose the same gauge you already wear.

GaugeLook / feelBest for
22GVery fine and delicateUltra-subtle healed piercings
20GDelicate everyday choiceMany nostril and small cartilage piercings
18GSlightly stronger lookCartilage or nostril piercings already fitted for 18G

Metal Colour

Choose 14ct yellow gold or 14ct rose gold

Both options are solid 14ct gold, not plated or filled. Choose the colour that works best with your skin tone and the jewellery you already wear.

14ct Yellow Gold

Classic, warm and timeless for everyday wear.

14ct Rose Gold

Softer, warmer and more subtle against the skin. Our rose gold option is solid 14ct rose gold, not rose gold plated.

Material Trust

A close-fitting hoop deserves real solid gold

A close-fitting hoop sits near the skin every day, so the metal matters. This 7.5mm seamless hoop is made from solid 14ct gold wire for long-term wear in fully healed piercings.

14ct Solid Gold

Not plated, not filled, made for long-term wear.

Gold-Plated

Surface coating can wear away over time, exposing the base metal underneath.

Surgical Steel

Some alloys may not suit everyone with sensitive healed piercings.

Important Fit Note

For fully healed piercings only

This 7.5mm seamless hoop is designed for fully healed piercings only. Do not wear it in a fresh, healing, irritated or swollen piercing.

Measure Before Ordering

How to check if 7.5mm may fit

Check the inner diameter of the hoop you currently wear.
If 7mm feels tight, presses into the skin, or feels restrictive, 7.5mm may give you slightly more room.
If 8mm looks too loose or leaves more visible space than you want, 7.5mm may give you a closer look.
For a nostril piercing, measure from the centre of the piercing hole to the lower edge of the nostril where the hoop will sit.
If you are unsure between two sizes, choose the larger size or ask your piercer.

Common Questions

About the 7.5mm seamless hoop

Who should choose a 7.5mm seamless hoop?

Choose 7.5mm if your piercing is fully healed and 7mm feels slightly tight but 8mm looks too loose.

Is 7.5mm a common hoop size?

7.5mm is a half size, so it is less common than standard 7mm or 8mm hoops. It is useful when standard sizes do not give the fit you want.

Is 7.5mm good for nostril piercings?

It can suit healed nostril piercings that need a close but not tight fit. If your piercing sits higher or your nostril tissue is thicker, choose 8mm or larger.

Is 7.5mm better than 7mm?

Not always. 7.5mm is better if 7mm feels tight, presses into the skin, or feels restrictive. If 7mm already feels comfortable, you may not need to size up.

Is 7.5mm better than 8mm?

Choose 7.5mm if 8mm looks too open or leaves more visible space than you want. Choose 8mm if you prefer easier movement or a slightly looser everyday fit.

Can I wear 7.5mm in a septum piercing?

Only if your septum piercing is fully healed and you already know you prefer a very close fit. Many septum piercings need 8mm, 10mm or larger, so check your current jewellery before choosing 7.5mm.

Is rose gold still solid gold?

Yes. Choose 14ct rose gold if you prefer a softer colour. It is solid 14ct rose gold, not rose gold plated.

What gauge should I choose?

Choose the same gauge you already wear. 20G gives a delicate look, 18G is slightly thicker, 22G is very fine, and 16G should only be chosen if your piercing already wears 16G.

Can I wear 7.5mm in a new piercing?

No. This seamless hoop is for fully healed piercings only.
