Not all gold jewellery is made the same way
The word gold can mean very different things in jewellery — from a thin coating over a base metal to solid gold all the way through. For piercing jewellery, the difference matters because the metal sits in close contact with your skin for long periods of time.
The material
The same gold all the way through
14ct solid gold contains 58.3% gold, alloyed for strength and everyday durability. Unlike gold-plated jewellery, it is not a thin surface coating over another metal — the material is solid throughout. Stepoy uses nickel-free 14K solid gold for healed piercing jewellery that is made for long-term, everyday wear.

Will this fit a fresh piercing?
No. STEPOY seamless hoops are for fully healed piercings only. For a fresh piercing, please keep the jewellery your professional piercer fitted and follow their aftercare advice.
Is this really solid 14ct gold?
Solid 14ct gold throughout — never plated, never gold filled. The wire is 58.5% pure gold alloyed for durability.
What gauge should I choose?
If you know the gauge of your current piercing, choose the same. Otherwise: nostril and most cartilage piercings sit at 18G or 20G; septum and daith are usually 16G or 18G; lobes vary. If unsure, send us a photo before ordering and we will help you choose.
What inner diameter should I choose?
Inner diameter is how wide the hoop sits across your piercing. Typical sizes by placement: nose 6–8mm, septum 8–10mm, helix and tragus 6–9mm, daith 8–10mm, conch 10–15mm, lobe 7–12mm. When in doubt, choose the smaller size for a snug fit.
Can I get a half size like 6.5mm or 7.5mm?
Yes. Use the ‘Request a Half Size’ link in the configurator to open the half-size hoop selector — it lets you choose 5.5mm, 6.5mm, 7.5mm, 8.5mm, 9.5mm or 10.5mm and is added to your bag as a separate, made-to-order hoop.
What is your returns policy?
Because every ring is handcrafted to your specifications and pierced jewellery is worn in close contact with the body, we are unable to accept change-of-mind returns. However, we never want you to feel stuck — contact us and we will review the situation.
