The details that matter
Discover the shape, hand-finished texture and fit of your Ember 14ct solid gold septum ring.
1. Why you’ll love it
Ember keeps its detail on the lower curve: an irregular, hand-hammered surface framed by smooth, polished gold. The contrast gives a simple septum hoop a little character without making it feel elaborate.
With a suitable fit, the smooth upper arc sits within your piercing and the textured lower half is the part you see beneath your nose. How much of the ring shows depends on your anatomy, piercing position and chosen diameter.
Every hammer mark is made individually. Some impressions are broad and shallow, others smaller or more defined; their spacing and direction are never repeated exactly. Wear it on its own, or alongside your favourite nostril jewellery.
2. Material & finish
Made from 14ct solid gold, never plated or gold-filled. The lower half is textured by hand, while the upper arc and both sides of the opening retain smooth, polished round wire.
- Choose yellow, white or rose gold
- Irregular hammer marks on the face of the lower curve
- A natural variation in texture on every ring
- Flat-cut ends that meet in a fine, discreet seam
- Made to order in your selected diameter and gauge
- For fully healed septum piercings
The photographs show the design and style of finish; your ring will have its own arrangement of hammer marks.
3. Choosing your size
The inner diameter shapes how Ember sits beneath your nose. Compare the options with a septum hoop that already fits you:
- 8mm: a smaller diameter for a closer look, where your piercing position allows
- 9mm: a little extra room while keeping the look understated
- 10mm: a larger curve with more of the hoop on show
- 11–12mm: a more spacious, prominent look
The same diameter can sit differently depending on your anatomy and piercing position. Choose the same gauge as your current well-fitting jewellery: 16G is 1.2mm and 18G is 1.0mm.
Half sizes from 5.5mm to 10.5mm are also available. 16G is unavailable below 8mm. Check the options above for your preferred combination, and message us if you would like help comparing sizes.
The gauge refers to the slender round-wire section that passes through your piercing. The lower decorative section is hand-hammered; choose your gauge by the smooth wire that passes through the piercing.
4. Wearing your seamless hoop
Open the hoop by gently twisting the ends sideways in opposite directions. Do not pull them directly apart, as this can distort the circle.
Guide a smooth round-wire end through your fully healed piercing, keeping the hammered lower section outside the piercing channel. Gently twist the flat-cut ends back into alignment until they meet neatly.
Ask a professional piercer to help with fitting if the placement is difficult to reach, and to check that the textured section sits comfortably outside the piercing.
