The details that matter
Discover Luma: a solid gold helix ring with hand-hammered detail around the entire outer edge and a smooth, polished front and inner surface.
1. Why you’ll love it
A small glint along the curve of your ear. Wear it alone on your upper ear, or combine it with smooth lobe hoops and small studs for a softly varied ear stack.
The entire outer circumference is hammered by hand with tiny, irregular transverse marks: short strokes across the outer edge that catch the light in little flashes. The front-facing side and inner surface remain smooth and polished.
The width, depth, angle and spacing of these small marks vary naturally with each hammer stroke. No two rings have exactly the same pattern; yours will share the design pictured, with details of its own.
Each Luma ring is handmade to order, with closely aligned ends for an almost seamless look. Sold individually, for fully healed helix piercings.
2. Material & finish
Crafted from 14ct solid gold, never plated or gold-filled. Hand hammering follows the whole outer circumference, while the front-facing side and inner surface are left smooth and polished.

3. Choosing your size
The inner diameter determines how closely Luma sits around the outer edge of your ear. Compare the options with a hoop that already fits you:
- 6mm: a smaller diameter for a close look, where your piercing position allows
- 7mm: a little more room while keeping the look compact
- 8mm: a larger curve with more of the hoop on show
The right diameter depends on your piercing position and the thickness of your ear. Choose the same gauge as your current well-fitting jewellery: 18G is 1.0mm and 20G is 0.8mm.
If you are unsure, compare the inner diameter of an existing hoop or ask your piercer to help you find a fit that sits comfortably without pressing into the ear.
4. Wearing your seamless hoop
Open the hoop by gently twisting the ends sideways in opposite directions. Do not pull the ends directly apart, as this can distort its shape.
Guide one end through your healed piercing, then twist the ends back into alignment. If the piercing is difficult to reach, ask a professional piercer to fit it for you.
