The details that matter
Explore the hand-finished texture, polished gold and fit of your Ember solid gold helix hoop.
1. Why you’ll love it
Ember follows the outer rim of your ear with a gentle contrast of polished gold and texture. Its upper half remains smooth round wire, while the outer circumference of the lower half carries irregular impressions made by hand.
The textured outer curve catches little flashes of light as you move. The amount of hoop on show and its wearing angle depend on your ear shape, piercing position and chosen diameter.
Every ring is hammered individually, without a repeating pattern. Some marks are softer, others more defined, with naturally varied depth, direction and spacing. Wear one as a subtle detail, or combine two in separate healed helix piercings for a textured gold stack. Each ring is sold individually.
2. Material & finish
Made from 14ct solid gold, never plated or gold-filled.
- Choose yellow, white or rose gold
- Fine round-wire hoop with a smooth, polished upper half
- Irregular hand-hammered texture on the outer circumference of the lower half
- Smooth wire on both sides of a discreet, flat-cut seam
- Each ring has its own naturally varied hammer marks
- Handmade to order for fully healed helix piercings
The photographs show the design and style of finish. Your ring will have its own arrangement of impressions.
3. Choosing your size
Choose from 6–10mm inner diameters and 18G (1.0mm) or 20G (0.8mm). The inner diameter determines how closely the hoop follows the outer edge of your ear:
- 6–7mm: smaller options for a closer look, where your placement allows a comfortable fit
- 8mm: a middle option to compare with a hoop you already wear
- 9–10mm: more room for deeper placements or a more relaxed look
These are relative comparisons, not a fit guarantee. The distance from your piercing to the ear edge and the thickness of your cartilage determine the diameter you need.
Choose the same gauge as your current well-fitting jewellery. Gauge describes the smooth round wire passing through the piercing; the hammered surface has small natural variations. Compare an existing comfortable hoop, or ask your piercer to confirm your size.
4. Wearing your seamless hoop
Open the hoop by gently twisting the ends sideways in opposite directions. Do not pull them directly apart, as this can distort the circle.
Guide a smooth round-wire end through your fully healed helix piercing, keeping the textured section outside the piercing channel. Gently twist the flat-cut ends back into alignment until they meet neatly.
Check that the ring sits comfortably around the ear edge without pressing into the cartilage. Ask a professional piercer to help with fitting if you are unsure.
