The details that matter
Discover the hand-finished texture, polished gold and fit of your Ember solid gold lobe hoop.
1. Why you’ll love it
Ember adds a little character to the simple curve beneath your earlobe. Its upper half keeps the smooth finish of polished round wire, while the outer circumference of the lower half carries irregular impressions made by hand.
The textured outer curve catches light as you move. How much of the hoop is visible, and how closely it sits beneath the lobe, depend on your piercing position, ear shape and chosen diameter.
Every ring is hammered individually, without a repeating pattern. Some marks are softer, others more defined, with naturally varied size, depth, direction and spacing. Wear one as a quiet detail, choose two for both ears, or combine different sizes across separate healed lobe piercings. Each ring is sold individually.
2. Material & finish
Made from 14ct solid gold, never plated or gold-filled.
- Choose yellow, white or rose gold
- Fine round-wire hoop with a smooth, polished upper half
- Irregular hand-hammered texture on the outer circumference of the lower half
- Smooth wire on both sides of a discreet, flat-cut seam
- Each ring has its own naturally varied hammer marks
- Handmade to order for fully healed earlobe piercings
The photographs show the design and style of finish. Your ring will have its own arrangement of impressions.
3. Choosing your size
Choose from 8–12mm inner diameters and 18G (1.0mm) or 20G (0.8mm). The inner diameter influences how much space sits between the lower curve and your earlobe:
- 8–9mm: smaller options for a closer look, where your piercing position allows
- 10mm: a middle option to compare with a hoop you already wear
- 11–12mm: a roomier curve with more of the hoop on show
These are relative comparisons, not a fit guarantee. The distance from your piercing to the bottom of your lobe and the thickness of the tissue determine the diameter you need.
Choose the same gauge as your current well-fitting jewellery. Gauge describes the smooth round wire passing through the piercing; the hammered surface has small natural variations. Compare an existing comfortable hoop, or ask your piercer to confirm your size.
4. Wearing your seamless hoop
Open the hoop by gently twisting the ends sideways in opposite directions. Do not pull them directly apart, as this can distort the circle.
Guide a smooth round-wire end through your fully healed earlobe piercing, keeping the textured section outside the piercing channel. Gently twist the flat-cut ends back into alignment until they meet neatly.
Check that the hoop sits comfortably beneath your lobe without pulling or pressing into the tissue. Ask a professional piercer to help with fitting if you are unsure.
