About your starfish helix ring
This little starfish has five softly tapered arms, each with a rounded tip. Their gently varied curves give it a sea-life silhouette, while the smooth, polished surface keeps the detail simple. There are no gemstones or textured embellishments.
If you enjoy ocean-inspired jewellery, this tiny starfish helix hoop brings a coastal detail to your ear stack. Pair it with plain gold pieces, or choose it as a thoughtful gift for someone who loves the sea.
1. Why you’ll love it
This starfish cartilage hoop gives a simple gold ring a little seaside character. The approximately 3mm motif is fixed to the hoop itself, adding a recognisable sea-life detail without a dangling charm.
Wear it alone in your helix piercing, or pair it with plain gold hoops and studs elsewhere on your ear. Its curved arms add a playful beach-inspired touch to your ear stack that works throughout the year.
2. Solid gold, never plated
The starfish and hoop are both made from genuine 14ct solid gold, rather than a gold coating over another metal. This solid gold starfish helix hoop is nickel-free and handmade to order for a fully healed helix piercing.
- Yellow gold for a warm, sunny glow
- White gold for a cool, clean finish
- Rose gold for a soft hint of pink
The starfish is a polished solid-gold shape with no gemstone or stone setting, allowing its softly curved outline to remain the main detail.
3. Choose your fit
Start with how you like a helix hoop to sit around the outer rim of your ear. A smaller inner diameter will usually sit closer, while a larger one gives a little more room. Your piercing position and ear anatomy affect the fit, so the same size can sit differently from person to person.
You can choose a 5, 6 or 7mm inner diameter. If you already have a helix ring that fits well, measure across its inside edge as a starting point. These small sizes will not suit every helix piercing; your piercer can check the space you need.
For the wire thickness, choose the same gauge as the jewellery you already wear:
- 18G = 1.0mm
- 20G = 0.8mm
The starfish measures approximately 3mm and does not change the stated inner diameter. If you are unsure about your gauge, your piercer can check it for you.
4. How to wear it
This starfish helix ring is made for a fully healed piercing in the upper outer cartilage of your ear.
When you are ready to put it in, gently twist the two ends sideways in opposite directions. Pulling them straight apart can change the shape of the circle, so hold the hoop itself rather than the starfish motif.
Once one end is through your piercing, gently twist the ends back into alignment. If the angle is difficult to reach or you would prefer help, a professional piercer can fit it for you.
