The details that matter
Discover Luma: a solid gold daith ring with hand-hammered detail around the entire outer edge and a smooth, polished front and inner surface.
1. Why you’ll love it
A little gold, tucked into the inner curve of your ear. Make it a quiet focal point in your inner ear, or pair it with smooth gold studs and delicate lobe hoops.
The entire outer circumference is hammered by hand with tiny, irregular transverse marks: short strokes across the outer edge that catch the light in little flashes. The front-facing side and inner surface remain smooth and polished.
The width, depth, angle and spacing of these small marks vary naturally with each hammer stroke. No two rings have exactly the same pattern; yours will share the design pictured, with details of its own.
Each Luma ring is handmade to order, with closely aligned ends for an almost seamless look. Sold individually, for fully healed daith piercings.
2. Material & finish
Crafted from 14ct solid gold, never plated or gold-filled. Hand hammering follows the whole outer circumference, while the front-facing side and inner surface are left smooth and polished.
- Available in yellow, white or rose gold
- Small, irregular transverse hammer marks across the full outer edge
- A smooth front-facing side and polished inner surface
- Handmade variations in the width, depth and spacing of each short mark
- Photographs show the design; the exact hammer pattern varies from ring to ring
- Made to order in your chosen size and gauge, for fully healed daith piercings
3. Choosing your size
Available in 6–10mm inner diameters, Luma offers a choice of fits within your ear. Compare the options with a daith ring that already fits you:
- 6mm: the smallest option, only where your anatomy and piercing position allow a comfortable fit
- 7mm: a smaller curve, where your anatomy and piercing position allow
- 8mm: a compact look with a little more room
- 9mm: a larger, more visible curve
- 10mm: a roomier, more prominent look
Choose the same gauge as your current well-fitting jewellery: 18G is 1.0mm and 20G is 0.8mm.
The right fit depends on your anatomy and piercing position. Daith piercings can be difficult to measure yourself, so ask your piercer to confirm the diameter and gauge if you are unsure. Check the available size and gauge combinations above before ordering.
4. Wearing your seamless hoop
Open the hoop by gently twisting the ends sideways in opposite directions. Do not pull the ends directly apart, as this can distort its shape.
Guide one end through your healed piercing, then twist the ends back into alignment. If the piercing is difficult to reach, ask a professional piercer to fit it for you.
5. A little something to unwrap
Your Luma ring arrives with:
- One handmade Luma 14ct solid gold daith ring, in your chosen size, gauge and gold colour
- A STEPOY jewellery box
