A tiny polished gold ball made for your rook. The smooth three-dimensional shape catches the light from different angles, adding a little more depth than a flat motif while keeping the overall look simple.

Choose a 5, 6 or 7mm inner diameter, 18G or 20G, and yellow, white or rose gold for your fully healed rook piercing. If you already wear a rook hoop that feels comfortable, matching its inner diameter and gauge is the easiest place to start. A closer look at your gold ball rook hoop

The fixed polished ball gives the hoop one smooth three-dimensional detail inside the rook. Its rounded surface catches the light differently from a flat disc, while still keeping the design minimal and easy to stack.

This is the three-dimensional option in the collection. Compared with our Circle design, which uses a flat round disc, the Gold Ball projects outward as a polished sphere. The ball is fixed decoration, not a removable captive bead and not the closure of the hoop.

If you like the simplicity of a plain rook hoop but want one small detail that catches a little more light, the polished sphere adds dimension without bringing in gemstones, symbols or dangling movement.

The key difference from our Circle design is the shape: the Gold Ball is fully three-dimensional, while the Circle motif is flat and disc-like.

Both the fixed ball and the hoop are made from genuine 14ct solid gold, not a gold coating over another metal. It’s nickel-free and handmade to order for a fully healed rook piercing.

The ball is a fixed polished three-dimensional solid-gold sphere with no gemstones, prongs or dangling parts. It is not a removable captive bead, and the ball is not the closure of the hoop.

Rook sizing can vary quite a bit from ear to ear, so the easiest reference is a rook hoop you already know fits comfortably.

5mm: the closest fit in this range
6mm: a little more room and a useful middle option
7mm: more clearance if your rook is thicker or you prefer a slightly more open look

If you already wear a rook hoop, measure straight across the inside of the ring and choose the same inner diameter.

For wire thickness, match your current jewellery: 18G = 1.0mm or 20G = 0.8mm. If you’re not sure what you currently wear, your piercer can check it for you.

This hoop is for a traditional rook piercing rather than a faux rook.

This gold ball hoop is made for a fully healed rook piercing.

To open it, gently twist the two ends sideways in opposite directions rather than pulling them apart. Guide one end through the piercing, then twist the hoop back into alignment.

Rotate the hoop until the ball sits where you like it. Because the motif is a sphere, there is no single upright direction to worry about. If it feels difficult to fit, a piercer can help.
