The details that matter
Explore the hand-finished texture, polished gold and fit of your Ember solid gold conch hoop.
1. Why you’ll love it
Ember follows the curve around the outer edge of your ear, adding a softly textured detail to a simple gold hoop. Its upper half remains smooth, polished round wire; the outer circumference of the lower half carries irregular impressions made by hand.
The textured outer curve catches the light as you move. The exact amount of ring on show depends on your anatomy, piercing position and chosen diameter. Choose a fit that wraps comfortably, with room to sit without pressing into the ear.
No fixed pattern guides the hammer marks. Their size, depth, direction and spacing vary from ring to ring, giving each piece its own finish. Pair Ember with simple lobe hoops or a favourite helix stud for a gentle mix of smooth gold and texture.
2. Material & finish
Made from 14ct solid gold, never plated or gold-filled.
- Choose yellow, white or rose gold
- Fine round-wire hoop with a smooth, polished upper half
- Irregular hand-hammered texture on the outer circumference of the lower half
- Smooth wire on both sides of a discreet, flat-cut seam
- A naturally different pattern of impressions on every ring
- Handmade to order for fully healed conch piercings
The photographs show the design and style of finish. Your ring will have its own arrangement of hammer marks.
3. Choosing your size
Available in 10–15mm inner diameters and 18G (1.0mm) or 16G (1.2mm). The inner diameter determines how the ring wraps around your ear:
- 10–11mm: smaller options, where your ear shape and piercing position allow
- 12–13mm: a larger curve with more room around the outer edge
- 14–15mm: the roomiest options for placements that need a greater diameter
These are relative comparisons, not a fit guarantee. The distance from your conch piercing to the outer edge of your ear matters more than appearance alone. Compare a hoop that already fits comfortably, or ask your piercer to confirm your size.
Choose the same gauge as your current well-fitting jewellery. Gauge refers to the smooth round wire passing through the piercing; the hammered surface has small natural variations.
4. Wearing your seamless hoop
Open the hoop by gently twisting the ends sideways in opposite directions. Do not pull them directly apart, as this can distort the circle.
Guide a smooth round-wire end through your fully healed conch piercing, keeping the textured section outside the piercing channel. Gently twist the flat-cut ends back into alignment until they meet neatly.
Check that the hoop has room to sit comfortably around the edge of your ear. A conch piercing can be difficult to reach, so ask a professional piercer to help with fitting if you are unsure.
