1. Why you’ll love it
Glimmer adds a subtle point of light to the distinctive placement of your rook piercing. Its fine, rounded shape lets the texture do the talking, whether you wear it beside smooth gold hoops or keep the rest of your ear simple.
We hammer every ring by hand, all around the hoop. Tiny impressions vary naturally in size, depth and direction, creating a unique pattern on each piece. Your ring will share the character of the one pictured, with its own individual arrangement of marks.
Each ring is handmade to order with closely aligned ends for an almost seamless look. Designed for suitable, fully healed rook piercings only.
2. Material & finish
Crafted from 14ct solid gold, never plated or gold-filled. An all-over hand-hammered finish gives the rounded wire its softly shifting highlights.

3. Choosing your size
Glimmer is available in 4–8mm inner diameters. A rook sits within a small cartilage fold, so choose your fit carefully:
- 4–5mm: the smallest options, only where your anatomy and piercing position allow a comfortable fit
- 6mm: a compact curve, depending on your piercing position
- 7mm: a little extra space while keeping the look understated
- 8mm: a larger, more visible curve
Choose the same gauge as your current well-fitting jewellery: 20G is 0.8mm, 18G is 1.0mm and 16G is 1.2mm.
Your ideal diameter depends on your anatomy and piercing position. If you have only worn a curved barbell, ask your piercer to confirm whether a hoop is suitable and which diameter and gauge will fit without pressing into the fold.
4. Wearing your seamless hoop
Open the hoop by gently twisting the ends sideways in opposite directions. Do not pull the ends directly apart, as this can distort its shape.
Guide one end through your healed piercing, then twist the ends back into alignment. If the piercing is difficult to reach, ask a professional piercer to fit it for you.
