The details that matter
A smooth finish, two delicate arcs and a fit chosen for your ear. Here are the details of your Double Helix Ring.
1. Why you’ll love it
A little layering without a second piercing. Double Helix Ring creates two fine gold arcs around the outer edge of your ear, with one continuous spiral passing through a single healed helix piercing.
The rounded wire has a smooth, polished finish that keeps the shape understated. Wear this 14ct solid gold double helix ring on its own, or alongside a favourite lobe stud for a simple ear stack.
Each piece is handmade to order in your chosen fit and gold colour. It is one spiral earring with a double-hoop effect, rather than two separate cartilage rings.
2. Material & finish
Made from 14ct solid gold, never plated or gold-filled, with a smooth, polished finish.
- Available in yellow, white or rose gold
- Fine, rounded wire with a plain surface throughout
- One continuous spiral creating two visible hoops through a single helix piercing
- Made to order in your selected inner diameter and gauge
- Left-hand and right-hand spiral versions
- For a fully healed helix piercing
This polished gold cartilage hoop has a clean, simple finish, with no hammered pattern or added decoration.
3. Choosing your size & spiral direction
A small double helix hoop should have enough room for both loops to sit comfortably around your ear. The right fit depends on your piercing position, angle and the thickness of the ear rim.
- Inner diameter: the space inside each loop, not the combined width of the two hoops. This style is offered in 6–10mm.
- Gauge: choose the wire thickness that matches your piercing: 18G is 1.0mm and 20G is 0.8mm.
A single hoop that already fits can be a useful reference, but the double spiral sits differently. Avoid choosing a smaller diameter solely to copy a snug helix ring in a photograph.
How do I choose left-hand or right-hand? First decide which ear you want to wear it on. These names describe the winding of the spiral; please do not assume that “left-hand” automatically means left ear, or “right-hand” means right ear.
Before ordering, tell us which ear you will wear it on and, if you have a preference, whether you normally insert your jewellery from the front or the back. We can then confirm the spiral version for your intended placement. If you are unsure, a clear photo of the ear you want to wear it on can help us discuss the direction with you; it cannot confirm your exact size.
4. Wearing your double helix hoop
Double Helix Ring is a spiral, rather than two separate rings. Guide one end into your fully healed helix piercing, then gently rotate the piece along its winding until the two loops sit beside each other around the outer ear.
The left-hand and right-hand versions wind in opposite directions. Follow the curve of your piece rather than pulling the coils apart or bringing the two ends together.
If you are unsure about fitting it, ask a professional piercer to help. Do not force the ring through or keep rotating it if it feels uncomfortable.
5. A little something to unwrap
